Make a "Mad Lib"
http://www.redkid.net/madlibs/
1. Read over what Mad Libs are, select a story and fill in the blanks with the type of words the website asks for. Press "Submit" and read over your story. Do this 2-3 times for different story titles.
2. Create your own Mad Lib! Create a new Google document, name it "Mad Libs - (your name)" and share it with me.
3. Write a short story (no more than 2 paragraphs), being sure to use all 8 parts of speech at least once. Don't worry about blanks, just write. Once you are finished, paste a copy of your story on the next page of your Google document, keeping the original on the first page. In the copy, create eight blanks in your story by deleting words for each of the 8 parts of speech. The first blank should be a noun, a pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction, interjection (in that order). Note: You may have to alter your story to fulfill the requirement of incorporating all 8 parts of speech in that order.
4. Under your story (at the bottom of the page) number from 1-8 and add a part of speech and a blank line after each number for each of the eight blanks you created in your story.
5. Print 3 copies of your Mad Lib for classmates to fill out (page 2 only).

Create a Google Slide Lesson
Using Google Slides, work with another student to create a presentation that includes definitions, jobs in sentences, how to use them properly, examples of words, examples of words being used in sentences, and any other facts about that part of speech. Split up the 8 parts of speech, so that each of you is responsible for creating slides for 4 parts of speech. Be creative since you will be presenting these to the class! Work on style and color scheme, animations, and images. If you find a good video or song that might be helpful for students, add a link! If you need any help, please ask me!
